The governed threshold
Access follows responsibility.
The commons remains readable in public. Identity begins only where participation creates custody, editorial duty or a record that another person must protect.
Access register / Three layers
Not every room requires the same key.
A login is justified when it protects a person, a contribution or an editorial act. It should not obstruct public reading merely to manufacture exclusivity.
- 01
Open
Public commons
Questions, decision journeys and editorial essays may be read without an account. Public reading is part of the purpose of this space.
Custody: No profile, post or submission is created.
- 02
Not yet activated
Member desk
A future private workspace for invited contributors: saved inquiry records, submitted propositions and correspondence about editorial review.
Custody: Will require verified identity, consent and server-side session controls.
- 03
Restricted
Editorial chamber
Moderation, provenance review, publication decisions, correction records and appeals belong to an accountable editorial role—not to an anonymous interface.
Custody: Role-based access and an auditable decision history are required.
Release protection
Review privately. Publish deliberately.
Online review deployments are intended for authorised reviewers. The production commons can remain publicly readable when the release is approved.
The private reasoning desk is a note field that keeps text in the visitor’s own browser storage. It is ordinary client-side behaviour, not infrastructure: nothing is transmitted, no account is created, and clearing the browser clears the note.
Opening condition
The member door opens after the rules exist.
Member access will not be activated until identity, consent, retention, moderation, correction and appeal duties are defined together. An interface can collect a password in minutes; trustworthy custody takes longer.
When activated, authentication will be enforced by the server, sessions will expire, privileges will be role-specific and editorial actions will leave a reviewable record.
